Romeo, a mid-teen Tennessee Walker, came to us purely by accident! We drove all the way to Indiana to pick up another horse, and the sellers convinced us to bring Romeo back with us too! Romeo became my trail partner, and we did really well together. We went camping for a week in Gettysburg and rode the trails, we camped at Tuckahoe for a weekend and rode all weekend. He and I tried out every park nearby and worked in the ring all the time. He was definitely my riding partner for two years.
We had just decided to start looking for a forever home for Romeo because he wasn't getting as much riding time or attention here as rescues kept coming. And he deserved a person to keep riding him, loving on him every day, and give him the attention he deserved. One day, we invited a friend to go trail riding with us, and she rode Romeo. She fell in love with him, and he definitely fell in love with her. We watched him act totally different with her than anyone else. We were so thrilled when she decided to adopt him! We get regular photos and updates, and he is so loved and so spoiled. And so close that we plan to trail ride together often!
The beautiful Romeo landed exactly where he was supposed to, and I am so thankful for the chance we had to spend two years of his life with him and still get to be a part of it!
