More than a Horse Program

Our Homeschool Horse Rescue Academy is designed as a progressive learning program, with each class building on the knowledge and skills introduced in the previous one.

Students begin their journey with our introductory course, FOAL, which serves as the foundation and prerequisite for all future academy classes.

FOAL stands for

Finding Opportunities through Animals and Learning.

Through hands-on experiences with our rescue horses, students develop a strong foundation in horse care, safety, responsibility, teamwork, and compassion while discovering the many lessons horses can teach both in and out of the barn.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ 1

"Do children need horse experience?"

-No. Our program is designed for beginners as well as children with previous horse experience.

FAQ 4

"Does a parent stay during class?"

-Yes. A parent or guardian must remain on the farm for the duration of each session.

FAQ 2

"Will my child ride a horse?"

-The primary focus is horse care, safety, rescue education, and hands-on learning. Riding opportunities may be offered during select sessions when appropriate.

FAQ 5

"What happens if class is cancelled?"

-If we cancel due to severe weather or unsafe conditions, we'll notify families and provide a make-up session whenever possible.

FAQ 3

"What should my child wear?"

-Closed-toe shoes are required. Long pants are recommended. Children must bring a riding or bicycle helmet for riding sessions.

FAQ 6

"How many children are in each class?"
